English Hymn S-T

’Tis so sweet to walk with Jesus,
Step by step and day by day;
Stepping in His very footprints,
Walking with Him all the way.

Refrain:
Step by step, step by step,
I would walk with Jesus,
All the day, all the way,
Keeping step with Jesus.

’Tis so safe to walk with Jesus,
Leaning hard upon His arm,
Following closely where He leads us,
None can hurt and naught can harm.

Step by step I’ll walk with Jesus,
Just a moment at a time,
Heights I have not wings to soar to,
Step by step my feet can climb.

All the way I’ll walk with Jesus,
Through the sunshine, through the gloom,
Though His blood-marked steps may lead me
To the garden, to the tomb.

Here a while we walk with Jesus,
But the time will not be long
Till the night shall change to morning,
And the sorrow into song.

Then, with all who walked with Jesus,
We shall walk with Him in white,
While He turns our grief to gladness,
And our darkness into light.

Jesus, keep me closer—closer,
Step by step, and day by day;
Stepping in Thy very footprints,
Walking with Thee all the way.

Tis the Blessed Hour of Prayer

1. ’Tis the blessèd hour of prayer, when our hearts lowly bend,
And we gather to Jesus, our Savior and Friend;
If we come to Him in faith, His protection to share,
What a balm for the weary! O how sweet to be there!

Chorus:
Blessèd hour of prayer,
Blessèd hour of prayer:
What a balm for the weary!
O how sweet to be there!

2. ’Tis the blessèd hour of prayer, when the Savior draws near,
With a tender compassion His children to hear;
When He tells us we may cast at His feet every care,
What a balm for the weary, O how sweet to be there!

3. ’Tis the blessèd hour of prayer, when the tempted and tried
To the Savior Who loves them their sorrow confide;
With a sympathizing heart He removes every care;
What a balm for the weary! O how sweet to be there!

4. At the blessèd hour of prayer, trusting Him we believe
That the blessing we’re needing we’ll surely receive;
In the fullness of this trust we shall lose every care;
What a balm for the weary! O how sweet to be there!

To A Maid Engaged To Joseph

To a maid engaged to Joseph,
The angel Gabriel came.
Fear not, the angel told her,
“I come to bring good news,
Good news I come to tell you,
Good news, I say, good news.

For you are highly favored
By the God the Lord of all,
Who even now is with you.
You are on earth most blest,
You are most blest, most blessèd,
God chose you, you are blest!

But Mary was most troubled
To hear the angel’s word.
What was the angel saying?
It troubled her to hear,
To hear the angel’s message,
It troubled her to hear.

Fear not, for God is with you,
And you shall bear a child.
His name shall be called Jesus,
God’s offspring from on high.
And he shall reign forever,
Forever reign on high.

How shall this be? said Mary,
I am not yet a wife.
The angel answered quickly,
The power of the Most High
Will come upon you shortly,
Your child will be God’s child.

As Mary heard the angel,
She wondered at his words.
Behold, I am your handmaid,
She said unto her God.
So be it; I am ready
According to your word.
